Oil Changes,
Done The Right Way.

Canyon County's work trucks and daily drivers have been getting oil changes at Rogers Cleveland Blvd shop since the early 1980s. We stock high-volume diesel oil (Powerstroke, Cummins, Duramax spec) and the heavy-duty filters those engines require — plus the full range of conventional and synthetic oils for gas vehicles. Fleet accounts get scheduled service intervals built around their duty cycle. Drop in for a walk-in, schedule online, or set up fleet billing — we'll keep your trucks running.

An oil change is the cheapest insurance policy for your engine — and one of the easiest services to do wrong. The wrong oil weight, a skipped filter, a missed top-off on coolant or washer fluid, and you've paid for a 'service' that took 10 minutes and missed everything. Rogers Tire & Auto Care has been changing oil in the Treasure Valley since 1978, and our ASE-Certified Technicians treat every oil change as an opportunity to catch the small problems before they become big ones — a multi-point inspection on tires, brakes, fluids, belts, and underbody comes free with every change, and we'll tell you honestly if anything needs attention (and what can safely wait).

We stock the right oil for your vehicle: conventional, synthetic blend, full-synthetic, and diesel-spec — including the long-life formulations modern engines call for. We use the correct filter (not a 'universal' one), tighten the drain plug to spec, top off washer fluid and other fluids that are low, and reset your service light. The whole process is usually 30–45 minutes, and you can wait in our locally-owned waiting room or use our free shuttle to get to work.

When to Get an Oil Change

  • Your dashboard service light or oil-life indicator is on
  • It's been 3,000–10,000 miles since your last change (depending on oil type)
  • The oil on the dipstick looks black or feels gritty
  • You hear ticking from the engine on cold start
  • You're heading into severe service: towing, cold winters, dusty conditions
  • You bought a used car and don't know when the oil was last changed
  • It's been six months since your last change, regardless of mileage
  • Your engine is burning oil between changes and you need to top off more often

What's Included in a Rogers Oil Change

Drain old oil, replace the oil filter with the correct OEM-spec filter, refill with the correct oil weight and type for your vehicle, torque the drain plug to spec, reset your service-interval light, and top off washer fluid. Plus: a free multi-point inspection covering tire tread depth and pressure, brake pad and rotor visual, belt and hose condition, battery state-of-charge, coolant level and condition, and a check for fluid leaks. You get a written report with everything we found — green, yellow, red.

Conventional, Synthetic Blend & Full-Synthetic

Conventional oil is right for older engines and short-interval driving — typically 3,000–5,000 mile intervals. Synthetic blend offers better cold-start protection and slightly longer intervals (5,000 miles is a good rule of thumb). Full-synthetic is the gold standard for modern engines — better protection at temperature extremes, longer change intervals (7,500–10,000 miles or per OEM spec), and required for many new vehicles to maintain warranty. We use the right oil for your vehicle; we don't upsell synthetic when you don't need it.

Diesel Oil Changes

Diesel engines need diesel-spec oil — higher detergent levels, soot-handling additives, and the right viscosity for your platform. Powerstroke, Cummins, Duramax — we stock CJ-4 and CK-4 oils per OEM spec, and the larger filters diesels require. Diesel oil intervals are typically 5,000–7,500 miles depending on duty cycle, but severe service (towing, idle time, dusty work) can shorten that. We'll set the right interval for how you actually drive.

Multi-Point Inspection (Included Free)

Every oil change comes with a 30-point inspection covering: tire tread and pressure, brake pad thickness, rotor condition, suspension wear, belt and hose age, battery state, fluid levels (coolant, transmission, brake, power steering, washer), exhaust, lights, wipers, and a visual underbody check for leaks or damage. We give you a written report color-coded by priority — and we don't recommend service you don't actually need.

While You Wait or While You Work

Most oil changes take 30–45 minutes. You can wait in our locally-owned waiting room (coffee, WiFi, kid space), drop the car and use our free shuttle to your office or home, or use our after-hours key drop available 24/7. Schedule online or walk in — we keep oil-change bays open for walk-ins every day.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked.

How often should I change my oil?

Depends on the oil and the driving. Conventional oil: 3,000–5,000 miles. Synthetic blend: 5,000 miles. Full-synthetic: 7,500–10,000 miles or per your OEM spec. Diesel oil: 5,000–7,500 miles. Severe service (heavy towing, lots of idle time, dusty conditions, very short trips) shortens all of these. If it's been six months since your last change, get it done regardless of mileage.

How much does an oil change cost?

Conventional oil change typically runs $45–$70 depending on vehicle and filter. Synthetic blend $60–$85. Full-synthetic $75–$110. Diesel oil change (larger capacity, premium oil) typically $115–$165. Includes filter, multi-point inspection, and fluid top-offs. We quote in writing — no surprise upsells.

Do I need synthetic oil?

If your vehicle's manufacturer specifies synthetic (most new vehicles do), yes — using conventional could void warranty and accelerate wear. If your vehicle was originally spec'd for conventional, you usually don't need synthetic — but it's not wrong to upgrade for better protection. We tell you what your vehicle actually needs.

Will an oil change void my new-vehicle warranty?

No. Federal law (Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act) prevents manufacturers from voiding warranty just because you used an independent shop. We use OEM-grade or better oils and filters, document every service, and our records integrate with CARFAX — so the work travels with your vehicle.

Do I need an appointment for an oil change?

No. Oil change bays are kept open for walk-ins every day. Scheduling helps if you want a specific time slot or know you'll have a wait — and the shuttle is more reliably available if we know you're coming. After-hours key drop 24/7 at all four Rogers locations.

How long does an oil change take?

Most oil changes are 30–45 minutes from drop-off to pickup, including the multi-point inspection. Diesel oil changes can take a little longer due to larger capacities. If we find something during the inspection that needs immediate attention, we'll call you with a quote before doing any additional work.
